National Wildlife Federation

Habitat stewards and ambassadors working with National Wildlife Federation's Backyard Wildlife Habitat and Schoolyard programs encourage the development of habitat suitable for wildlife, including butterflies. Habitat stewards also provide and recruit volunteers to work with zoos, aquariums, and other organizations on habitat restoration efforts on behalf of butterflies.

The Backyard Wildlife Habitat program has recently added pollinator information to their website, including information about pollinators and resources materials that educate landowners about pollinator issues. Places to Raise Young provides information on host plants for butterflies and moths, nesting sites for bees, and the impact of pesticides on pollinators. Another useful resource is Attracting Birds, Butterflies and Other Backyard Wildlife, a new book by NWF staffer David Mizejewski.
